Cat

The cat or domestic cat (Felis silvestris catus) is a small carnivorous mammal of the Felidae. The cat is living close to humans for nearly 9500 years, [1] much earlier date prior to the estimated 3,500 to 8000 years [2].

The names derive from the current widespread cattus vulgar Latin word that refers to the wild cats especially in contrast to domestic cats, in Latin, they were called felis.

There are dozens of races, some hairless or tailless as a result of genetic mutations, and exist in a wide variety of colors. They are skillful predators can hunt more than one hundred different species of animals for food. They are also animals that can absorb some, and some have the ability to be trained to manipulate simple mechanisms.

They communicate with groans, hisses, grunts and about a hundred different vocalizations, [3] in addition to body language.

It is believed that the African wildcat (Felis silvestris lybica) is its immediate ancestor.
