Monkey

Monkey

Monkey in the broadest sense, is the common name for all species of monkeys or apes, implemented in Brazil, narrowly, to cebídeos (or New World monkeys) in general. The economic designation, also used much in Brazil, usually applied to species of the genus Cebus, the South, and species of small, or sago, in the north.

In the strict sense, refers to the monkey species of primates belonging to the genus Macaca.

Most monkeys live in hot countries, are feeding fruits and seeds. Animals are generally intelligent, sociable. The so-called great apes (broad sense) - chimpanzee, gorilla, orangutan - are currently the closest animals to man, belonging to the family of hominids.
